Schooner
This is a replica of one of the many schooners, built in Baltimore during the 18th and 19th century.
Ship's base
The base has a compartment that opens. A Bible was placed inside.
Faith
The schooners' name is Faith. There is a poem on the ship which appeared in an American newspaper, that tells very prettily the triumph of Faith: for without Faith in the goodness and mercy of God, many other virtues will not help us greatly. That, at least, is the message of this little poem.
